Frequently asked questions

Still stuck? Open a support ticket — I read every one.

Accessibility

Which screen readers does it work with?
NVDA, JAWS, and Narrator on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android. The app uses native ARIA live regions, so anything that speaks ARIA works.
Does it work without a screen reader?
Yes — you will still hear the market through the sonification engine, and all navigation is keyboard-first. But for exact price and indicator values, a screen reader is strongly recommended.
Is there a tactile / braille display option?
There is a Tactile Virtual Canvas designed for devices like the Monarch and Graphiti. Full driver support ships in a later phase; the buffer already works.

Data & providers

Which exchanges and data sources are supported?
It connects to the major crypto exchanges and to stock and forex brokers, plus a wide range of market-data and analytics sources. Because data sources are a plug-in system, more can be added over time — including ones you build yourself.
Do I need my own API keys?
For live trading and private data, yes — you plug in your own exchange credentials. The app stores them in your OS keychain (Keychain / DPAPI / KeyStore / Keystore). Public market data on most providers works without a key.

General

Who is this for?
Blind and low-vision traders who want to trade stocks, crypto, forex, or futures on their own terms — without waiting for a sighted helper and without wrestling with charts designed only to be looked at.
Do I need to be an experienced trader?
No. The app is designed to be navigable from day one. The User Guide walks through every key, every sound, and every pane. Markets are still risky — that part we cannot remove.

Platforms

Which platforms are supported?
Windows, macOS (Mac Catalyst), Android, and iOS. Windows and Mac have full hardware-keyboard support. On iOS a hardware keyboard works; on-screen keyboards also work everywhere.
Is there a web version?
Not today. The app is a native MAUI Blazor Hybrid desktop/mobile app because native audio latency and keyboard access matter. A web preview of a chart is planned for this marketing site.

Pricing & beta

How much does it cost?
It is free for individuals. Accessible Trade Terminal is open source, so personal use costs nothing and always will. Organizations that deploy it for their teams or clients pay for access and support, which — together with grant funding — keeps it free for everyone else.
Is it really free?
Yes — and not a stripped-down version. For individuals the entire platform is free and open source. Paid access is for organizations, and it funds the continued development that keeps the individual version free.

Privacy

Where does my data go?
Market data is fetched directly from the providers you configure. The app does not route your orders or account data through any server I control. The only data this website stores is what you type into the signup or support form.
